JOB DETAILS
Our client is a global manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems, continuing its expansion across EMEA with the launch of a new demo centre in Stuttgart next month.
This position sits within a small EMEA technical team and plays a critical role in supporting the company’s overseas growth strategy. The role is structured as approximately 70% Service and 30% Application Engineering, combining hands-on installation and maintenance with technical application support and customer validation work.
You will be responsible for full system installations (typically 3–5 days on-site), commissioning, and final customer acceptance across Europe. Travel is approximately 50%, primarily within Europe, with occasional global or US support when required.
Training is provided on the job, with the potential for a one-week onboarding programme in China to gain direct exposure to the systems and HQ technical teams.
This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing role requiring strong mechanical, electrical, and laser/optical understanding, working closely with both European customers and global engineering teams.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, commissioning, and final acceptance of industrial SLA and SLM systems
- Execution of preventive maintenance and service contracts to ensure long-term system reliability
- Mechanical, electrical, and laser/optical troubleshooting on-site and remotely
- Delivery of structured operator training covering machine operation, safety, and basic maintenance
- Support pre-sales technical discussions in collaboration with sales teams and distributors
- Conduct feasibility studies, sample builds, and application validation based on customer requirements
- Operate and maintain the Stuttgart demo centre
- Create and continuously improve technical documentation and training materials
- Act as the technical bridge between customers and global engineering teams
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- 3–5 years’ experience within additive manufacturing or industrial equipment
- Hands-on experience installing and commissioning industrial 3D printing systems
- Strong understanding of SLA technology
- Experience working with laser/optical systems
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability
- Customer-facing technical experience
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience with metal AM / SLM systems
- Experience working in cross-cultural or global teams
- German or other European languages
- Chinese language capability
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline
- Valid driving licence
- Strong communication skills and confidence working in a customer-facing environment
