JOB DETAILS

Our client is a global manufacturer of industrial 3D printing systems, continuing its expansion across EMEA with the launch of a new demo centre in Stuttgart next month.

This position sits within a small EMEA technical team and plays a critical role in supporting the company’s overseas growth strategy. The role is structured as approximately 70% Service and 30% Application Engineering, combining hands-on installation and maintenance with technical application support and customer validation work.

You will be responsible for full system installations (typically 3–5 days on-site), commissioning, and final customer acceptance across Europe. Travel is approximately 50%, primarily within Europe, with occasional global or US support when required.

Training is provided on the job, with the potential for a one-week onboarding programme in China to gain direct exposure to the systems and HQ technical teams.

This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing role requiring strong mechanical, electrical, and laser/optical understanding, working closely with both European customers and global engineering teams.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation, commissioning, and final acceptance of industrial SLA and SLM systems
  • Execution of preventive maintenance and service contracts to ensure long-term system reliability
  • Mechanical, electrical, and laser/optical troubleshooting on-site and remotely
  • Delivery of structured operator training covering machine operation, safety, and basic maintenance
  • Support pre-sales technical discussions in collaboration with sales teams and distributors
  • Conduct feasibility studies, sample builds, and application validation based on customer requirements
  • Operate and maintain the Stuttgart demo centre
  • Create and continuously improve technical documentation and training materials
  • Act as the technical bridge between customers and global engineering teams

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • 3–5 years’ experience within additive manufacturing or industrial equipment
  • Hands-on experience installing and commissioning industrial 3D printing systems
  • Strong understanding of SLA technology
  • Experience working with laser/optical systems
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capability
  • Customer-facing technical experience
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50%

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience with metal AM / SLM systems
  • Experience working in cross-cultural or global teams
  • German or other European languages
  • Chinese language capability
