As our Applied HR AI Lead, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions that leverage both traditional machine learning and cutting-edge generative AI techniques within HR. This role is hands-on and influential, partnering across the HR teams in Italy and Switzerland to deliver impactful, reliable AI applications; also supporting project management or vendor evaluation where necessary. You will also ensure security, governance & compliance and work hands-on to ship MVPs in a lean environment, leveraging the Group’s AI CoEs or targeted contractors where needed.

  • Lead end-to-end design and implementation of AI apps (LLMs, RAG, agents) for HR use cases using both ML and LLM-based approaches.

  • Guide integration of APIs and frameworks with Workday, SAP and other HR and enterprise applications.

  • Define and implement MLOps practices for CI/CD, observability, model/version lifecycle, and safe rollout/rollback.

  • Build retrieval-augmented generation pipelines with appropriate vector stores (e.g., OpenSearch, Pinecone, pgvector/FAISS). Fine-tune foundation models (e.g., with LoRA, PEFT) if necessary.

  • Implement evaluation frameworks for both predictive and generative systems (grounding, hallucination, safety, fairness).

  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance across data and models, including GDPR and internal AI governance

  • Partner with HR teams, HR Technology, People Analytics teams, central IT (platforms/security), and the Group AI CoE/vendors for build sprints and vendor assessments.

  • Communicate complex AI topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders; advocate a product mindset and MVP-to-scale approach.


Your background

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Informatics/ Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Python with ML/LLM toolchains (e.g., PyTorch/TensorFlow, LangChain/LlamaIndex/Semantic Kernel)

  • Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and vector search (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, OpenSearch)

  • Cloud and MLOps expertise (AWS/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring/telemetry, model registries)

  • Systems integration across enterprise/SaaS platforms (HRIS, collaboration suites, ticketing) and secure API design

  • Strong project management capabilities (roadmapping, agile delivery, vendor management, budgeting)

  • Solid understanding of data security, privacy, and responsible AI practices (GDPR, DPIAs, guardrails, red-teaming)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to translate complex topics into actionable plans

  • Fluent English; German or Italian is a plus
