Calderys Group
Full-time
On-site

Operations & Professional Services
Description

Role

This role focuses on delivering measurable and repeatable improvements in industrial energy performance across regional industrial sites, resulting in sustained reductions in consumption, operating costs, and Scope 1 & 2 CO₂ emissions. It is rooted in industrial energy management and engineering execution, focusing on how energy is consumed, optimized, and governed in plants. CO₂ reduction is addressed as a direct consequence of improved energy performance, not as a sustainability, ESG, or corporate reporting activity.

Responsibilities

  • Energy Performance, and Industrial Decarbonization

    • Drive regional energy performance improvement initiatives with clear objectives on energy intensity, cost reduction, and Scope 1 & 2 CO₂ emissions.

    • Translate corporate energy and decarbonization targets into practical, engineering-based site action plans.

    • Identify, prioritize, and deploy energy efficiency levers focused on utilities, fuels, electricity, and energy-intensive processes.

    • Ensure CO₂ reductions are achieved through measurable energy performance improvements, not through offsets or non-technical mechanisms.

  • Energy Management Systems, KPIs & Governance

    • Design, implement, and maintain energy management processes and procedures to ensure disciplined and consistent execution across sites.

    • Define and deploy operational energy and CO₂ KPIs (consumption, efficiency, cost, emissions, savings).

    • Ensure reliable data collection, validation, and analysis of energy and emissions data, with a strong focus on accuracy and operational relevance.

    • Track initiatives, validate savings and CO₂ impact, and report performance against defined targets.

  • Audits & Structured Improvement Programs

    • Lead or coordinate technical energy audits covering utilities, energy distribution, and energy-intensive processes.

    • Define prioritized improvement roadmaps with quantified energy savings, CO₂ impact, CAPEX/OPEX, and payback.

    • Guide and technically challenge external engineering or consulting partners when required.

    • Ensure governance and follow-up to confirm implementation and realization of benefits.

  • Support to Sites & Capability Building

    • Act as a technical reference for sites on energy performance and energy management topics.

    • Develop site capabilities by coaching local energy, maintenance, and process experts on energy efficiency methodologies and standards.

    • Support plants in resolving complex energy-related issues impacting cost, reliability, or performance, without taking an operational ownership role.

  • Coordination & Best Practices

    • Coordinate regional energy initiatives in close collaboration with Operations CoE, Purchasing, and plant management.

    • Deploy standardized tools, methodologies, and best practices across all sites.

    • Monitor developments in industrial energy technologies and energy-related regulations, strictly from an operational and compliance standpoint.

  • Key Interfaces

    • Regional Operations Director

    • Hub / Plant Operations Managers

    • Industrial and Purchasing

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in industrial energy systems and energy consumption drivers (utilities, fuels, electricity, processes).
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable energy and cost savings in multi-site industrial environments
  • Solid experience in energy management frameworks and structured improvement programs.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, focused on results and performance tracking.
  • Ability to influence and drive action in a matrix organization without direct operational authority.
  • Practical understanding of CAPEX justification, ROI, and payback calculations.
  • Ability to structure and deliver operational training for site and hub managers.
  • Comfortable interacting with both shop-floor experts and senior management.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in industrial energy management, process engineering or related technical functions within a global industrial group.
  • ISO 50001 experience (nice to have)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (nice to have)
  • English: professional or native proficiency., another European language is a plus.
