About the Role  

 

The role will take the lead of developing and maintaining Cyncly's revenue recognition processes and control environment as well as leading on the month end review and reporting of revenue alongside the commercial finance team. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

 

Revenue Recognition & Compliance

  • Own and manage the recurring revenue recognition process in line with IFRS 15, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Review customer contracts and sales arrangements to assess revenue treatment, liaising with legal and sales teams..
  • Develop and maintain robust revenue policies, processes, and controls.

 

Financial Reporting & Month-End

  • Lead monthly revenue close activities, including journal preparation, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Prepare and present revenue analytics, commentary, and insights to senior finance leadership and the wider business.
  • Support external audits and provide technical accounting papers as required.

System & Process Improvements

  •  Drive automation and efficiency within revenue processes, leveraging Salesforce and NetSuite to optimise data flows and reporting.
  •  Partner with IT and operations teams on system enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
  •  Contribute to ongoing transformation projects within the finance function.

 

Business Partnering

  •   Act as a key point of contact for commercial, sales, and operations teams on revenue matters.
  •   Provide guidance on deal structuring, pricing, and contract terms from a revenue recognition perspective.
  •   Support strategic initiatives, M&A activity, and integration projects from a revenue accounting standpoint.

 

Required qualifications and experience: 

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent). 
  • 3+ years’ experience in revenue accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role within a multinational or complex group environment.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with hands-on experience applying IFRS 15 to recurring and contract-based revenue models.
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts and collaborating with commercial teams on revenue recognition matters.
  • Practical experience working with ERP and CRM systems such as NetSuite and Salesforce (or equivalent), with a focus on data integrity and process optimisation is desirable. 
  • Demonstrated ability to design, document, and improve finance processes and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting external audits and preparing technical accounting memos.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex revenue data into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, ideally within a technology, SaaS, or PE-backed business.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional European languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects forward as part of a multi-functional team
