Operations & Professional Services

At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we’ll give you what you need to make it happen. It won’t always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you’ll never run alone. Run what runs the world.

This Position reports to:

Production Manager

Your role and responsibilities

The ABB Quartino plant is part of the Critical Power Business Line, where we develop and produce UPS systems designed to stabilize and ensure continuity of power grid supply at our global customers' facilities. The strong market expansion and expected volume increase in the coming years require an expansion of our production organization. The production structure is organized in Integrated Production Units (IPUs), divided by product type. Each IPU is autonomously organized so it can independently coordinate all the resources needed to ensure the required production outputs, while maintaining the expected quality and costs.

For one of our IPUs we are looking for a Production Supervisor that will report to the IPU Leader and will work alongside the other IPUs coordinating the assigned product lines. You will ensure efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, costs, and proper productivity level).

The work model for the role is: #LI- onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Operational & Production Management: Coordinate all production resources—personnel, equipment, and production area—to meet key operational targets including output, On-Time Delivery, and First Pass Yield, while actively participating in projects to optimize performance and working capital.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, guide, and develop a high-performing production team by ensuring proper staffing and skills, providing coaching and motivation, and fostering a collaborative culture in line with HR policies and ABB's core values.
  • HSE & Compliance Ownership: Take full accountability for the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) of your team, assessing risks and implementing plans to ensure strict compliance with all ABB integrity standards, local regulations, and the code of conduct.
  • Continuous Improvement & Training: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing and Kaizen principles, while ensuring the implementation of necessary safety, technical, and process-related training programs for your organization.

Qualifications for the role

  • A degree in a technical discipline such as Electronics, Mechanics, or a related field.
  • A deep understanding of end-to-end production processes and logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a production environment, including significant time in a Team Leader or supervisory capacity.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on leadership experience, with direct responsibility for managing and developing production teams or shop-floor personnel.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operational resource planning, including the organization of personnel, production equipment, and shift schedules.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, combined with a proven ability to manage conflicts and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Fluency in Italian is required; a good working knowledge of English is a valuable asset
