What You'll Do

This position is responsible for supporting the execution of the EMEA Trade & Grassroots marketing strategy in the designated area. You will ensure best in class support to our sales team setting them up for success with the customer and in the community (clubs, federation, leagues, tournaments, coaches, juniors and trial). 

 

You will support strategic accounts with dedicated marketing plans that build awareness, drive consideration and conversion across the customers various channels and touchpoints. Responsible for executing Premium Partners programs across a variety of customers to bring consistency to brand and product messaging.

 

Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

 

Trade Marketing

  • Be the marketing point of contact for select customers, developing retailer relationships on a day-to-day basis.
  • Responsible for the marketing elements of customer Joint Business Plans. Understand revenue targets, growth drivers to meet agreed JBP objective.
  • Develop and agree on strategic accounts, marketing activity plans together with the sales team, including in store and online execution and co-op marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure consistency of brand and product messaging across all customers.
  • Manage end to end marketing activity with select customers including briefing, production, guidelines, executing and reporting on campaigns.
  • Support the delivery of sell through activities, including seasonal product launches, staff training, partner events & activations.
  • Responsible for delivering best in class toolkits to customers for brand and product campaigns.
  • Working with the Sales team support seasonal sales launch events and tools including both digital and physical assets.
  • Manage retail auditing tools to ensure we are constantly measuring both online and in store performance in line with overall business objectives.
  • Support innovative and scalable training solutions for in store.
  • Work closely with Sales Support and the Sales team and customers to track sell through and ensure campaign KPI’s are being met & report progress to Brand Marketing Manager, Market Managers, Commercial Manager.

Grassroots Marketing

  • Partnerships - Clubs, Federations/Associations, Leagues & Academies - Utilize your experience, network and knowledge working with Clubs, Federations/Associations, Leagues & Academies to ensure commercial and marketing value.
  • Coach & Affiliate Campaigns – Execute WAS & CAP affiliate programmes & incentives to drive trial and conversion. Manage targets within your zone. Implement coach seminars and seasonal launches.
  • Trial & Experience – Manage the distribution of on court POS to support trial and pop-up experiences within your zone.
  • Tournament/Event – Retail (Wholesale & D2C) & Activation – End to end project management for agile retail & event activation within your zone.
  • Athletes - Utilize your experience and knowledge working with players, coaches, agents, and managers to ensure we are extracting value from player rosters as part of integrated business unit marketing plans
  • Working with the Trade & Grassroots Marketing Manager you will deliver against KPI’s aligned to our strategic business initiatives.

Budget planning & management

  • Responsible for building and managing the Trade & Grassroots Marketing budgets for your zone in line with Wilson fiscal planning cycles.
  • Monitor all financial operations related to: payments, accruals & interplants.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will need 3+ years’ experience in a Marketing position in a branded consumer goods business and/or leading sporting goods company and have worked with a variety of customers to deliver marketing execution in store, online and at the place of practice. 

  • Trade Marketing, Community engagement/building experience preferred.
  • Project and Process Management / Planning and organizing - ability to identify, priorities, multi-task & allocate resource time effectively. Set clearly defined objectives for each project; manages complexity; plans activities well in advance; monitors performance against deadlines, targets and milestones.
  • Experience working with agencies, negotiating, and placing digital media budgets.
  • Fluent in Oral and Written English & Spanish. Italian preferred.
  • SAP knowledge beneficial.
  • People oriented - proven experience in helping people and finding it rewarding to solve people’s problems; proactively using that experience to make the whole service better.
  • Problem Solver – ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate cross functionally – and thrive under pressure
  • Ability to travel Internationally a must (up 50 days a year).
