The Role:

The successful candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for corporate accounting for the Luxembourg legal entities and oversight of internal and external service providers. Further responsibilities include Accounting and bookkeeping, data entry and regulatory reporting.

This is a key role within Luxembourg Finance. The role holder will therefore need to be flexible and proactive and contributing to define, establish and evolve the necessary procedures, processes and reporting framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements for M&G Luxembourg
  • Prepare quarterly regulatory reporting packs for 10 entities
  • Prepare monthly financial pack and review of balance sheet reconciliations for M&G Luxembourg S.A.
  • Review M&G Luxembourg European branches trail balance
  • To carry out the tasks of the general accounting and bookkeeping activities (as required):
  • Accounting for legal entities
  • Preparing journals and uploads to Sun systems
  • Review of accounting and Financial pack prepared by Third party providers.
  • Ensuring correct sign offs and authorities are completed for any expenditure
  • Processing bank payment request
  • Post month end accruals and prepayments entries.
  • Prepare Asset under Management report
  • Review and instruct trailer fees and Rebate payments.
  • Review and update of department processes and procedures documents.
  • Build relationships and communication channels with the wider M&G Finance function.
  • Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting tasks examples of which could include monthly results analysis, UK regulatory returns, VAT returns as required.
  • Participation in ad hoc projects and assistance in provision of information to auditors and closure of audit points
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G’s operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office packages (e.g. Excel, PowerBI and Power Point)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Some experience of developing relationships with key contacts across the Finance teams and service providers
  • Be proactive, decisive, demonstrate well considered judgements and anticipate emerging risks
  • Solution oriented
  • relevant work experience required (minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role)
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and/or IFRS
  • Ideally bi-lingual to include English plus any other European language.

This role would suit an ambitious candidate who is working towards a qualification in Finance.
